Which zone districts allow an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU)?Posted by: The New Zoning Code Team
Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) are allowed in certain Single Unit (SU) zone districts and Two Unit (TU) districts with limitations.
Single Unit zone districts with a "1" allow ADUs (e.g. U-SU-C1). Single Unit zone districts with a "2" allow ADUs only on certain corner lots (U-SU-C2). ADUs are not allowed in Single Unit zone districts without a number (e.g. U-SU-C).
Two Unit zone districts allow ADUs in combination with an Urban House building form but not with a Duplex or Tandem House building form.
For a list of all the zone districts, please see Article 2 of the Draft Code or the Summary of Draft Zone Districts.
