Gearing Up For a Busy and Important SummerPosted by: Tina Axelrad, Principal City Planner

Public involvement is at the center of fixing Denver's Zoning Code.  Increasing public knowledge of The New Zoning Code and getting your feedback is important.  This spring and summer, our team will be in every corner of the city to introduce and get input on The New Zoning Code DRAFT. Check here often to get updates on progress and opportunities to discuss the draft. Details regarding upcoming meetings will be posted as they become available, but for now, here is a quick summary of what to expect this year.

In May, we'll host the first round of public meetings in the four quadrants of the city and downtown.  We will report on the purpose and progress of The New Zoning Code and introduce the context and form-based approach. We'll demonstrate how these approaches better support Denver's adopted plans like Blueprint Denver and how the new code will be easier to use and understand.

The second and third round of public meetings will be held in each City Council district between June and August. We'll also be meeting with a variety of interested groups. During rounds two and three, we will have the draft zoning code and draft zoning maps available so you can see how they relate to your neighborhood.  There will be many opportunities for you to review the material, ask questions and make comments.

We'll bring The New Zoning Code DRAFT to every part of the city this spring and summer.  That's a minimum of 27+ meetings! It's certainly going to be a busy and productive summer. And we look forward to hearing from you!
